Your experience in creative development will ensure the construction of compelling worlds and characters, while your interactive design experience and knowledge of game-play will help A2M to produce nothing but successful top selling games.
As a member of the design team you will be involved in every aspect of game creation, from the initial concept to final gameplay tuning. This means you'll have a chance to get your ideas in at the creative stage, and get your hands dirty during production with tasks such as scripting in-game events, and balancing gameplay mechanics. You will devise innovative and/or proven game component designs, and work closely with art and technical staff to realize the implementation. You will create game content hands-on with tools that you help design, including Maya plug-ins and scripting languages.
Other responsibilities include:
•Designing and creating amazing gameplay mechanics or 3D worlds
•Working with the Lead Game Designer and Art Director to realize the overall game vision
•Collaborating with the team to make the game environment a cohesive place
•Expanding the boundaries of game worlds
•Understanding the target audience needs and abilities
Requirement:
You must have 3 or more years game design experience for at least one published console game.
You have a passion for videogames coupled with a broad knowledge and deep understanding of the medium. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
You have proven experience with level building tools such as Maya, 3Dstudio Max, WorldCraft, UnrealEd, and Qradiant. You must have experience building, evaluating and revising level and mission designs in an existing game as well as strong knowledge of gameplay mechanics, gameplay feel and detailed tuning of micro gameplay. The ideal candidate will have a specific skill that can be applied from day one on the job (e.g., interface design, sound design, dialogue writing experience, etc.)
